September 2005
In the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, we’d like to take this opportunity to ask you to join us in keeping your fellow Cancer Registrars and their loved ones affected by this disaster in your thoughts and prayers. As you all know, the destruction was massive and affects millions of people – many of whom are our family, coworkers or friends.
The Red Cross remains one of the best ways to support the needs of the victims of Katrina. For information on how you can help, visit http://www.redcross.org or contact 800-HELP-NOW (435-7669) English, 800-257-7575 Spanish.

The National Cancer Institute in collaboration with the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University is pleased to announce that a new module is now available on the NCI training web site at www.training.seer.cancer.gov. This new site-specific module is for melanoma of the skin and is the first to contain Collaborative Staging as a part of the exercises. Also, all of the older modules are being converted to a new format and are being updated by adding collaborative staging to the exercise portion of the module. Currently, the modules for breast, leukemia and lymphoma and lung have been updated.
