April 2007

NATIONAL CANCER REGISTRARS WEEK, APRIL 9-13, 2007

What an exciting week for registrars!  This year’s theme, Cancer Registrars: The Core of Your Cancer Program, focuses on your importance to your program.

Although your daily work is detailed and sometimes tedious, cancer registrars really work towards the achievement of what has been called a “BHAG” (pronounced ‘bee-hag’)- a Big Hairy Audacious Goal - that of improving treatment, improving patient care, improving quality of life for cancer patients and contributing to the ultimate goal of finding a cure for cancer!  This is your week to celebrate and to share your mission and vision within your hospital, and your contribution towards its achievement.  It is also an opportunity to publicly recognize the knowledge, skill and professionalism of your cancer registrars on staff.  For ideas on activities and events to mark this special week, visit the NCRA website at http://www.ncra-usa.org/join/ncrw.htm
