| Powerful
help, at your fingertips
One of the most powerful tools in the CNExT program is the 'Help' function.
CNExT Help integrates online manuals, including the Collaborative Staging
Manual, FORDS with the surgery code index, CNExT User Manual, SEER Program
Manual, SEER EOD Manual, and NAACCR Data Dictionary. In addition, we can
also incorporate individual state-specific data acquisition manuals (DAM
manuals). The Help system has been greatly expanded for Collaborative
Staging, offering over 1800 pages of site-specific help for the 15 Collaborative
Staging fields.
Our
new Smart Help system displays coding manuals in an always-visible panel
next to the abstracting screen. With Smart Help, coding manuals follow
along with the abstractor, always displaying the manual page appropriate
to the field being coded.
Memorized all of the codes and don't need Smart Help? Just turn it off.
CNExT gives users the power to control their data entry environment. Even
with Smart Help turned off, assistance in CNExT is always just a keystroke
away. Pressing the F1 key at any time during abstracting will bring up
a context-sensitive help window, providing codes and information for the
field being edited at that time, including site-specific codes.
Registrars can chose which coding manual will appear first in the help
system, such as FORDS, NAACCR, SEER or California. The coding manuals
are cross-referenced to allow easy comparison of different coding rules.
Help topics can be accessed on screen, or topics can be printed as needed
and retained for future reference. The user can also bookmark frequently-visited
pages for quick reference.
